Thought For The Day, Friday 5/22/20

"Just The Facts"

I saw an episode of Dragnet the other day. Jack Webb would always say,”Just the facts”. An old adage says,”Don’t confuse me with the facts!” When I hear politicians, broadcasters, and everyday people misquoting the facts it drives me nuts. People tell me all day long, “President Trump said this or that”. I respond, “that’s not true I saw it and he said this... and here’s the quote”. When I point out the inconsistency in someone’s statement, people will say “The bible says judge not!” I’ll say wrong again, the Bible says,”judge not lest ye be judged for with the same measure you judge you will be judged.” If you judge according to God’s word and not man’s opinions, then you too will be judged by God’s word. When I see a political commentator say, ”What the President said was..., I want to scream, ”I heard what the person said!!!!!!” People, let’s remember the wisdom of old Jack Webb,” Just the facts, just the facts!”
