Don’t Squeeze the Charmin

Some of us remember the TV commercial with Mr Whipple squeezing the Charmin. We laughed, but few of us every thought the day would come when Americans would be fighting over toilet paper. We lived through the gas crisis, sugar shortage, meat crisis, but toilet paper? We have lived through hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, but this toilet paper thing might finish us off. In Boy Scouts we were taught that God put leaves on the trees as natural toilet paper. I heard stories from old timers about using the sears or Montgomery Ward catalogs as toilet paper. When this is all over, we may tempted out of pure joy, but please, “Don’t Squeeze the Charmin!”
