Pessimistic?
I think I’m a realist. I wonder how long after the last chorus of “Kumbaya”, we’ll see two black men wearing black lives matter t-shirts, killing each other in a drug deal. I wonder at the first exam for the police academy if anyone will show up? In the last seven decades I’ve been robbed, had my front teeth knocked out by drunks smashing into innocent people like me,( singing in the band), had a policeman pull a gun on me,(I must have reminded him of his brother-in-law) and I have never smashed a window in and robbed a 70” TV. I’ve never burned a building, being angry is not an excuse for criminal behavior. According to the US census, 76% of the population is white,13% is black & the remainder is Asian, Indian, & others. We must learn to talk, not burn & destroy. We must be honest that a criminal is not a saint & neither is a police officer with 18 charges against him. I’m not a pessimist, I’m a realist.
